The Royal Society invites nominations for the Hughes medal. This is awarded to a researcher in the field of energy. Nominees must either be citizens of a Commonwealth country or the Republic of Ireland, or individuals who have been ordinarily resident and working in one such country for at least three years immediately prior to nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted. The award is worth £2,000.
