Warwick mathematician awarded £1.75 million ERC grant to investigate how metals deform

Professor Filip Rindler of the Warwick Mathematics Institute has been awarded £1.75 million from the European Research Council to investigate concentration phenomena in Mathematical Analysis with applications to Material Science.

€1.45m awarded to research the role of human skills for economic development

Dr Federico Rossi, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick, is one of just 400 researchers across Europe to have been awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant, to study which human skills are crucial for future economic development.


Warwick researchers to explore the Milky Way & famous maths problem thanks to major European grant award

The ERC today, the 9th December, announced the winners of its latest Consolidator Grant competition for mid-career researchers. The funding is part of the EU’s current research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, and worth in total €655 million. With this support, the new grantees will be able to consolidate their teams and have far-reaching impact. The two Warwick academics who have received the award are Professor David Loeffler, from the Mathematics Institute, and Dr Pier-Emmanuel Tremblay from the Department of Physics.
