The Marsh Observatory is home to a Meade 0.40 m LX200GPS telescope, featuring a 0.4 m diameter primary mirror with a 4064 mm focal length and f/10 focal ratio. The telescope itself weighs approximately 100 kg. Find out more about the telescope here: Meade 0.40 m LX200GPSLink opens in a new window

Camera

Images from the telescope are collected using a high precision digital camera. The camera is a QHY600M Pro CMOS camera with a native resolution of 9600 x 6422 pixels. It has a peak quantum efficiency of 80%, and cooled to a temperature of 0 degrees C to greatly reduce noise.
