About Me

Panayiota joined the Superconductivity and Magnetism Group in October 2015, having completed her first degree in Physics at the University of Kent.

M.Sc. by Research

Panayiota worked on an experimental M.Sc. project supervised jointly by Geetha Balakrishan and Martin Lees. During the course of this one year project Panayiota prepared a number of polycrystalline samples of the non centrosymmetric superconductor Nb_xRe_1-x.

The structural and properties of these samples were then investigated using a range of experimental techniques including powder x-ray diffraction, resistivity, magnetometry, and heat capacity measurements.

Panayiota successfully completed her M.Sc. and graduated in the spring of 2017.
