Welcome Week Timetable - Statistics

For Undergraduates:

11:15-13:00 Top 10 things all Year 1 Stats Students need to know! (Theatre, Warwick Arts Centre, First Floor)

This session will introduce you to the key things that will develop you into a successful student. You will be introduced to the Statistics Society and what benefits there are to joining them.

14:30-16:30 Joint Degree session - Mathematics [see below for your degree course session] (in OC1.05)

You’ll meet key contacts from the Department of Mathematics, learn about the support available throughout your studies, and connect with fellow Joint Degree students.

• For MORSE and Maths+Stats - 14.30-15.30PM
• For other joint degrees (Discrete Maths, Data Science, Maths+Physics, Maths+Philosophy)
  - 15.30-16.30PM

For Undergraduates:

09:30-11:00 Go Beyond: making the most of Warwick (in OC1.05, The Oculus, Second Floor)

• This session is about meeting key services beyond the department.

Provisionally, expect to see:

• Our Statistics Careers consultant

• A Statistics Student Representative

• A Warwick Award Representative

• A Warwick Volunteers Representative
• A Warwick Innovation Representative

12:30-13:45 Statistics Department International Student Welcome (in MS.02, Zeeman Building)

This event is specifically for our international students although others can attend if they wish.

You can meet other international students and discuss some of the challenges that international students have and how these can be overcome.

14:00-15:00 Joint Degree session- Economics [for MORSE students only] (in Panorama)

You’ll meet key contacts from the Department of Economics, learn about the support available throughout your studies, and connect with fellow Joint Degree students.

For Undergraduates:

10:00- 16:00 Meet Your Personal Tutor

You will be allocated a single 1h session slot in this time period, check your personalised timetable on Tabula, available at the start of Welcome Week.

Please, come along to the MSB Atrium prior to the time-slot you have been allocated.

• Your personal tutor is the person that will be your first contact for support for issues you face on the degree and so its important you meet and attend this session.

For Undergraduates:

10:30-11:45 Meet your Mentors & Meet Others: Morning Coffee and Cake (in the Statistics Atrium, MSB)

For those that signed up to the Mentor Scheme, this will be an opportunity to meet with your Mentor and the other mentees in your group.
Even if you did not sign up to the scheme, there will be cakes and refreshments in the Statistics Atrium, this is an opportunity to meet other students on your programme and there will be student ambassadors and staff who will be around and happy to take your questions.
