Please note that whilst the module catalogue shows the latest approved version of each module and what is currently being taught (academic year 2025/26), there may be minor updates to content or learning objectives year on year, to reflect the evolving state of knowledge and the requirements of teaching best practise. Any such amends will be updated following the department 'module approvals process' and reflected in the module catalogue before the start of the next academic year.

Teaching and learning

For the first two years, you’ll study the core range of subjects, with route specialism in years three and four.

Our Degree Apprenticeship courses are structured across three terms in the academic year. Within each term, you will undertake four teaching weeks and two assessment weeks. These terms are not the same as the University of Warwick’s full time undergraduate term dates. Apprenticeship term dates will be communicated separately.

Teaching is delivered in 2.5 day blocks, either Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday, and includes a blend of face-to-face and online learning. During the time that you are at Warwick, you will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical laboratory sessions, and individual and group problem-based projects, where you will get hands-on and interact with peers and teaching staff. You will also have access to a Virtual Learning Environment for further support between blocks.

Years 1 and 2 are identical for all four routes. In Years 3 and 4, apprentices on different routes follow their own route through the specialist subjects. Examinations and work-based learning assessments are integrated throughout the year, allowing for continuous assessment rather than end-of-year exams. The final year will involve a substantial, individual work-based project and presentation.

Throughout the programme, you will meet regularly with your dedicated apprenticeship tutor and line manager or workplace mentor. During these meetings you will review your progress and plan your upcoming learning and development activity, which will make your experience unique to you and your role.

Degree Apprenticeship Centre

You will learn in our Degree Apprenticeship Centre, a unique learning environment with open spaces for collaborative and individual work and technology-enabled seminar rooms.

Entry requirements

• Minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points
• A level in Maths at grade B or above for Data Analyst route, and C or above for all other routes
• Disciplines studied post GCSE must include any of Engineering, IT, Computing, Web and Telecoms or relevant STEM subjects
• GCSE grades in Maths, English and additional STEM subject at grades C (or 4) or above

Where required subjects are not held, equivalent qualifications will be considered, and the admissions decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Fees and funding

Unlike traditional university courses, you won’t have to pay for your tuition yourself. You will earn a salary while gaining your qualification, and your tuition fees will be paid for by your employer.

You apply for a Degree Apprenticeship in the same way you apply for a normal job.

You are able to apply for Degree Apprenticeships and traditional university courses at the same time.
