Student Support

We want you to feel supported, both academically and personally. This section introduces the wide range of support services available to you, from wellbeing and pastoral support to academic guidance.

Undergraduate Support

Contact the Economics Undergraduate Office if you have any course related questions. They will sign post you to the relevant source of information or support.

Departmental Pastoral Support

  • Our Student Support and Progression Officers are here to help you with any personal, academic, or wellbeing concerns. You can get in touch with them by emailing economics.pastoral@warwick.ac.uk.
  • We also run academic and pastoral drop-in sessions twice daily during term time. These are a great opportunity to speak to someone in person if you need support or just want a chat.
  • If you're facing any difficulties that could affect your studies—such as problems with attendance, deadlines, or exams — please submit a mitigating circumstances form via the Personal Circumstances tab on Tabula. A member of the Pastoral Team will then get in touch with you to offer support and discuss next steps. Click here to find out more about mitigating circumstances.

Personal Tutor

You’ll be assigned a Personal Tutor who will be there to support you throughout your time in the Department. Your tutor is a friendly first point of contact for academic advice, general guidance, or if you ever need someone to talk to. You’ll be able to see who your Personal Tutor is on Tabula, and they’ll be in touch during the first few weeks of term to arrange your first meeting.

Year Tutor and Senior Tutor

Maths and Stats Drop-in Sessions

Maths and Stats Drop-in Sessions will be held weekly during term time. Pop in if you have any maths or stats related queries or require further support in these areas.

Advice and Feedback Hours

All academic staff members have regularly scheduled office hours, that you can attend to discuss any aspect of your academic studies. Check out their office hours on our people webpage.

Student Mentor

You’ll be assigned to a Student Mentor group, led by experienced Economics students. These groups meet regularly throughout the year, offering a supportive space to ask questions, get advice, and settle into university life. Your mentor will email you soon to arrange your first meeting.

Wellbeing Support

The Central Wellbeing Team can help with pastoral or welfare issues. They offer counselling, self-help tools and a listening ear if you need support.

Disability Services and Reasonable Adjustments

If you need reasonable adjustmentsLink opens in a new window in classes, tests, exams or assignments due to long term health conditions or additional learning needs, contact Disability Services as soon as possible after starting university, so that you can get the right support in place.

Report and Support

Harassment of any kind is completely unacceptable, and our community is an environment where prejudice and socially unacceptable behaviour are never tolerated. The Report and Support team offer support and advice to anyone experiencing or witnessing, incidences of discrimination or bullying.

Residential Community Team

Based in your residences, the Residential Community Team are here to support you with all aspects of residential life 24/7 365 days of the year.

Widening Participation (WP) Network

The WP network brings together students from a WP background, to provide a supportive network of staff and your peers. They offer University Transition Support, survival skills for university, work opportunities, financial guidance and much more.

Student Finance

Student Finance can provide the answer to any queries involving your fees. They can also provide guidance about the support on offer if you are struggling.

Students' Union

The Students’ Union provides Representation, Social Activities and Support for the students of Warwick. Join one of their numerous Sports Clubs and Societies. In addition, their Advice Centre can provide independent support with issues including housing, money or academics.
