Dalvinder Singh cited in final Financial Stability Board Report
Dalvinder Singh’s co-authored paper ‘ECB Significant-Bank Risk Profile and COVID-19 Crisis Containment: What Approach in the Transitioning Phase? IADI Sponsored Paper Series, No. 2, July 2022’ formally contributes to the international conversation on how best to ‘exit’ COVID 19 support measures. The Financial Stability Board published its final report on what kind of exit strategies would ensure equitable outcomes once countries start to remove Covid-19 support measures.
Call for Proposals: Digital Health Apps Hackathon, Kenya
Did you know that many health app developers knowingly or unknowingly sign away the rights to the data collected by health apps? Together with the University of Warwick, The Open Institute is running a project exploring how we can change this to protect personal data from falling into the wrong hands during the development and use of digital health apps. Dr Laura Lammasniemi wins prestigious Indian Law Review Best Article Prize 2021
Warwick Law School’s Dr Laura Lammasniemi has won the prestigious Indian Law Review Best Article Prize 2021 for a co-authored article called ‘Dadaji Bhikaji v Rukhmabai (1886) ILR 10 Bom 301: Rewriting Consent and Conjugal Relations in Colonial India'. The article was written for the Indian Feminist Judgments Project (IFJP).
Warwick Law School Leading National Rollout of School Tasking
Using the format of the hit TV show, Taskmaster, this exciting outreach project enables young people to learn about interesting aspects of the law through fun and interactive tasks set in the style of Taskmaster. School Tasking is now entering its second year with a second pilot at Warwick and a new rollout at the University of Edinburgh. From 2023-24, it will run across 15 universities, culminating in a grand final.
Warwick Law School makes the Top 10 in the Guardian University Guide 2023
Warwick Law School has been ranked 9th in the UK in the latest Guardian University Guide, climbing 13 places since last year. This latest result is recognition of the hard work and dedication of all Law School staff to conducting cutting-edge research and delivering high quality education.
WLS Alumna shares application top tips in Legal Cheek article
Sophia Hesling, who studied on our Law 3 year LLB degree and graduated this summer, has written an article for Legal Cheek sharing her top tips to application success. The article ‘What I wish I knew before applying for training contracts’ was published on 1 September 2022. Sophia is an events coordinator for Legal Cheek and a future trainee at Eversheds Sutherland.
In Memoriam: Nicola Docker
Warwick Law School is deeply saddened by the death of our former colleague, Nicola Docker, on 27 August 2022. Whilst she left the department in November 2018, she will be remembered by many staff who worked alongside her during her time at the Law School. She had an extremely kind-hearted nature, endless generosity and infectious laugh. She was taken far too soon and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
WLS and the University pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
We join with so many other communities across the world in expressing our sorrow at the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Like many universities, the University of Warwick was granted its Royal Charter of Incorporation in 1965 by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and our flags are half-mast to pay our respects and honour her memory.

Catherine Briddick joins us from the University of Oxford where she worked as the Refugee Studies Centre’s Departmental Lecturer in Gender and International Human Rights and Refugee Law.

Mara Malagodi joins us all the way from the Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she taught constitutional law. Before Hong Kong, she was senior lecturer at the City Law School in London.

Joy Malala joins us from Aston University where she worked as a lecturer in commercial law. Before that, she was a lecturer and the Research Director at Strathmore University in Nairobi Kenya.
