Alumna Last Mafuba is Modern-Day Lady Godiva
Warwick Alumna Last Mafuba, who studied on our LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights from 2015-2016, was recently profiled by the BBC and the Coventry City of Culture Trust as a modern-day Lady Godiva. Last, along with thirteen others selected for their unique stories, are learning to ride horses so they can take part in an event to launch Coventry’s UK City of Culture year.

Law Grad listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30
Warwick alumna Yomi Adegoke who studied on our 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2014 has been mentioned in the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe 2021. For the sixth year, the list is proving that youth is not wasted on the young. Yomi Adegoke is a British journalist who writes about the intersection of race, feminism and popular culture.
Warwick Alumnus secures Director position at NYAS
Ben Twomey, who studied on our LLM in Advanced Legal Studies in 2015-2016 has recently been promoted to the position of Director of Policy and Research at the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS). The role involves leading campaigns for the charity in order to influence laws and policies that affect care-experienced children and young people.
Law Alumnus Nigel Priestley is awarded an MBE
Nigel Priestley, senior partner at Huddersfield law firm Ridley & Hall and one of the UK’s most respected care and adoption specialist solicitors, has been named in the Queen’s New Year 2021 Honours List in which he has been awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to Children and Families.
Dr Celine Tan Celebrates 20 years as a Warwick Alumna
This academic year, Dr Celine Tan celebrates 20 years since she enrolled on our LLM programme at Warwick Law School. She is now Director of Postgraduate Studies overseeing the LLM she remembers so fondly and working alongside her previous lecturers and professional services staff.
Warwick Law Alumni get tuition fee discount to study an LLM
The University of Warwick is offering all Warwick alumni a 10% discount on their fees if they choose to study another full time degree with us.
The Law School is offering to top this up to 20% for Warwick graduates to study on our full time LLM programmes.
Warwick Alumnus publishes Training Contract Handbook
Warwick alumnus Jake Schogger’s new book ‘The Training Contract Handbook’ was published by City Career Series in July 2020.
The handbook offers a solid grounding in the legal, commercial and financial knowledge required for commercial law interviews and internships.
Warwick Alumnus honoured by the President of Zambia
Warwick alumnus (and former staff member) Professor Kenneth K. Mwenda was conferred upon the prestigious Presidential Insignia of Meritorious Achievement (PIMA) by the President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. President Edgar C. Lungu.
LLM Alumna becomes second ever woman to Chair Bar Council
Warwick LLM alumna Maura McNally SC has been elected Chair of the Council of The Bar of Ireland, the second-ever female head of the body that represents the bulk of the State’s barristers.

Warwick Law Alumnus appointed as new Attorney-General of Malawi
Former Warwick Law School student Dr Chikosa Silungwe was appointed by Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera as the new Attorney-General of Malawi last month. When asked about his new role, Chikosa shared, “it's a huge responsibility reposed in me to serve the people of Malawi.”
