Accommodation and Travel Information

Conference venue

The University of Warwick is located approximately three miles outside of Coventry (not in Warwick). General information about visiting the University can be found here. The conference will take place in the Mathematics and Statistics building, which is number 35 on the campus map.

Rail travel

We recommend travelling to Leamington Spa railway station and then taking a U1, U2 or number 12 bus to the University (click here for timetables). These buses are frequent and cost about three pounds for a return journey.

From Leamington station, cross the road and walk past the old pub on the corner. The bus stop is easy to see and anyone can direct you. The buses travel up the Parade, which is Leamington's main shopping street, and then on to the University. It takes between 20 and 30 minutes and it is clear when you have arrived. The Mathematics and Statistics building is near the second bus stop on campus, after the roundabout before the Sports Centre.

Alternatively, there are equally frequent number 12 buses from Coventry railway station. Remain in the station and take the outside steps by the car park to the bus stop. These run every 15 minutes, cost around two pounds and will take you to the University in about 15 minutes.

Road travel

If you are travelling by car, take the A46 to Coventry from the motorway. Do not turn off at Leamington Spa or Warwick – the University is actually located in Coventry. Follow signs for Warwick Arts Centre (our cinema and theatre complex) which is clearly signposted about one third of a mile before the turn off. At the turn off, stay in the left hand lane which takes you left only. Keep following Arts Centre or University signs for the next 10 minutes and you will arrive at the Warwick campus. There is various pay-and-display car parking available.

Accommodation

Speakers will have their accommodation booked for them. We recommend staying in a bed and breakfast in Leamington Spa, which has frequent bus links and is where the conference dinner will be held on Saturday evening. There are several reasonably priced B&B's which will be able to take your booking (a list of Hotels and B&Bs can be found here). Bear in mind the walking distance to the Parade (the main shopping street in Leamington), which is where most of the easy to find bus stops are located.
