One World Week Forum Event: The Impact of Globalisation and its Discontents

Globalisation is one of the most divisive issues of our time. Some welcome the process for its ability to create greater prosperity than ever before. Others vilify it for widening the gap between the 'haves' and the '‘have-nots'. What is the real story? Do supra-national institutions such as the IMF, WTO and the World Bank help or hinder mankind?

Speakers for this talk include:

  • Professor Raghuram Rajan, Chief Economist and Director of Research, International Monetary Fund
  • Dr. Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti, Former Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs, Indonesia
  • Professor Mark Harrison, Chair of the Economics Department, University of Warwick
