A new collection in the Library - the Ethnicity and Migration Collection - will officially be opened at an evening event on Thursday 27 April 2006 at 6.30pm in the Library.

The Ethnicity and Migration Collection will bring together collections from the Sivanandan Library of the Institute of Race Relations and the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations Collection.

Professor Michael Whitby, Pro-Vice-Chancellor will be officially opening the collection. This will be followed by short talks from A. Sivanandan, Director of the Institute of Race Relations, Professor Michel Wieviorka (CADIS Professor of Sociology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris) and Colin Prescod, Chair of the Council of the Institute of Race Relations.

Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
