Sponsored Walk for the Joe Homan Charity

The walk is in aid of the Joe Homan Charity - a charity which has created seven Boys Towns in South India, where boys are given a happy home and good education. There is also a Girls Town where 60 girls are accommodated. Three Children's Villages have also been built for children too young to enter a Boys or Girls Town.

The sponsored walk will take place on Saturday 20 May. Meet at 1.45pm for 2pm at the reception desk of Rootes Social Building. The walk is six miles, along footpaths, past Cryfield Farm through Cryfield Wood along a deserted railway track and back to the University at approx 5pm. Free refreshments will be available at Rootes. Strong shoes and waterproof clothing recommended.

Participants are requested to get as many sponsors before the race as possible. Before starting the walk, they should check in with a Marshall at Rootes. All money should be collected in the week after the walk and sent to Dr Ben Swoboda, Sponsored Walk Organiser, 6 Blackthorn Close, Coventry, CV4 7DQ by Friday 2 June.
