Engineering students from the University of Warwick and Monash University have arrived at Silverstone racetrack to compete as opponents in an international competition.

One of the first students to join the WMG Academy for Young Engineers laid a final brick yesterday (5) as part of the topping out ceremony for the new building.

Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood recently visited Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), where he met with Professor Lord Bhattacharyya. Sir Jeremy was keen to hear about the breadth of work that the Group undertakes as well as to understand how WMG develops partnerships with industry and the significant economic benefits of such partnerships.

Professor Christopher James, Professor of Healthcare Technologies and Director of the Institute of Digital Healthcare at WMG, University of Warwick, has been awarded the Sir Monty Finniston Award for Achievement, one of the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Achievement Awards.

Education Secretary Michael Gove has announced that the proposed Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) Academy for Young Engineers has been approved under the government’s academies programme.
