Thanks a million!

Warwick University Alumni Fund has reached the milestone figure of £1 million pledged by Warwick alumni and friends. Currently, 75 students at Warwick are benefiting from WGA Scholarships funded by the donations received. The Fund was established in 1997 to offer opportunity to bright young people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds - since then, over 30,000 graduates have been telephoned by current students and invited to contribute. To date, the average gift is just under £300 per person - this works out at less than £5 per month over a 5-year period.

Adam Boddison, a second year Mathematics student, is one of the most successful members of the calling team. He says, "Recent calling sessions have been really exciting - all the callers have been eager to be the one to take the total over the million pound mark. I think it's fantastic that students here now, like me, have the chance to help future students. I want to make sure that the Warwick experience is available to all."
