Research Support Services, located in Senate House, provides a comprehensive range of services to support research and research related activities to academic staff at the University of Warwick.

Research Support Services can provide advice across the whole life cycle of your research project, from identifying funding opportunities, through the preparation of research applications, contract negotiation and the financial management of research projects.

As part of our drive to improve the range and quality of services available to the academic community, we have recently subscribed to SiriusWeb, an online staff costs calculator developed by the University of Leeds. Incorporating both University salary scales and pension schemes and the rules of the main research councils. This tool is now available to aid in the costing of research applications. The provision of SiriusWeb is intended to complement the service currently provided by the Research Link and Funding Officers who will still be available to help with project costings and other areas of proposal development as needed. One of our ongoing projects is the provision of improved management information to University departments. A full listing of research awards this year is available on the web site and we are working to provide tailored reports on applications and awards in support of individual departments? research objectives. Another of our key priorities is the development of a system to collate information on research projects, outputs and interests, allowing a comprehensive view of research activities at Warwick. The benefits from such a resource will be many and varied, from assisting the researcher in the early stages of formulating a proposal, to providing data for future RAE-type reviews. Research Support Services will continue to provide updates as this project moves forward.
