New Term - New Fitness Regime

Originally published 23 September 2003

Here we go again, new term – new fitness regime! Is this the term you finally get the balance between work, study and exercise? If so, you’re probably looking for something to keep you challenged and stimulated.

The majority of people who start a fitness routine fail to go beyond the first six months. However, as an alternative to the gym, we want to offer you the chance to enjoy fitness and meet new people. Why not join a group fitness class and feel inspired to improve your body, lose yourself for an hour and have an effective workout?

Often we bully ourselves into exercising, realising afterwards how good it makes us feel. If we put ourselves through this mental struggle each time we need to exercise, we are destined to fail. There is an easier way to get in shape. You don’t need to overhaul your life in order to get fit, you just need to make small, positive changes that will last. Finding a class that you feel passionate about will help. The sports centre offers many such classes: Pursuit Cycling, Group Rowing, Boxercise - these are just three examples of the variety of new classes on offer.

With over 20 group classes on the new sports centre timetable, there is something for everyone. Beginners to exercise can be assured that they are exercising correctly and regular class participants can feel confident to increase their own intensity.
