Want to join us for a celebration of innovation and invention?

New VentureFest is a celebration of the achievements of Enterprise Fellows who are investigating the commercial potential of their innovative, technology-based business proposal.

The Enterprise Fellowship Scheme offers a unique package of support that is open to staff, students and alumni from the universities of Warwick, Central England, Coventry, Keele, Staffordshire and Wolverhampton. To find out more visit http://www.efs.ac.uk

On Monday 3 November we are hosting a special celebratory evening, which promises entertaining company, good food and an opportunity to see the successes that the Enterprise Fellows have achieved to date.

What is the format?

Guests will be able to hear how the Enterprise Fellowship Scheme has supported Fellows in their personal and business development. Afterwards, there is a delightful celebratory dinner and the chance to hear from Trevor Baylis OBE about the challenges and rewards of innovation.

There is also an opportunity to take a tour of the New Venture Exhibition where Fellows will be showcasing their business propositions.

Where is it?

The DeVere Belfry is famous all over the world for its links with golf – The Ryder Cup, in particular.

The Belfry’s proximity to road, rail and airport offers easy access with junction 9 of the M42 being only a mile away.

Who is Trevor Baylis?

In 1991, after watching a programme about the plight of Africa, Trevor Baylis set about developing the wind-up radio. The first working prototype ran for 14 minutes and was featured on BBC’s Tomorrow’s World. The products potential was recognized and the following year, BayGen Power Industries was set up in Cape Town employing disabled workers to manufacture the Freeplay wind-up radio. In 1996 the invention won the BBC Design Award for Best Product and Best Design.
