18 More Top 10 Hits for University of Warwick in Times Good University Guide

mortarboardThe Times Good University Guide for 2013 has ranked Warwick as one of the UK’s top ten Universities, and given no less than 18 of Warwick’s degree programmes a top ten accolade in new tables published in the Times newspaper today. Warwick is ranked 8th overall in the UK and remains the top ranked University in the Midlands.

Warwick was also in the top ten of the paper’s tables for: “Most Targeted by Key Employers”, “Number of Students from outside the” EU and “Applications per place”.

The Times described Warwick as:

“The most successful of the “new” universities of the 1960s, Warwick has global ambitions. It has set itself the target of establishing itself among the world’s top 50 universities, and has expanded its international activities that include a base in Venice, a programme for gifted teenagers around the world and the recruitment of more than 6,000 overseas students.”

“Warwick reached the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings for the first time in 2011 and has never been out of the top ten in The Times League Table.”

“Warwick is the only European institution to be involved in a new Center for Urban Science and Progress, a consortium of leading universities established in New York.”

The Warwick Departments with a top ten ranking according to the Times are:

1st for Theatre Studies, American Studies and Film Studies

3rd for Accounting and Finance, Economics and Mathematics

4th for Business and Sociology

5th for Politics and Italian

6th for History, French, German and Education

7th for English

8th for Classics and Engineering

10th for History of Art
