Researchers call for armchair astronomers to help find unknown hidden worlds
Astronomers at the University of Warwick have joined partners around the world in launching a new online initiative, calling for volunteers to come forward and help to search for extrasolar planets.
Metal forming to be cleaner and greener thanks to UKRI fellowship
The future of smart metal forming will be investigated by Dr Ed Brambley at the University of Warwick thanks to his award of a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. The fellowship enables him to perform blue-skies research in mathematical modelling in continuum solid mechanics and plasticity, the outcome of which could be used to provide predictive theoretical models to make industrial metal forming greener and cleaner.
Dr Freya Harrison wins WH Prize 2021
Dr Freya Harrison, Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Warwick., has won the WH Prize 2021 for her work in translating medieval literature and medical texts to uncover ancient antimicrobial recipes.
Joint European effort boosts automated driving
From 11 to 15 October the European research project L3Pilot, which WMG at the University of Warwick have worked on led by Volkswagen AG and co-funded by the European Commission, showcases automated driving functions in the City of Hamburg and on motorways nearby. The four-year project will now come to its successful end with performing its Final Event in conjunction with the ITS World Congress in Hamburg 2021.
