Warwick wins £1.7 million research grant to help “cooltronics”

The University of Warwick Department of Physics has been awarded a prestigious five-year grant to the sum of £1.7 million for “Creating Silicon Based Platforms for New Technologies”. The initiative will open up new technologies ranging from energy harvesting to “cooltronics”, enable zero-power electronics and could be key to combating global climate change.

Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya receives an Honorary Membership Award from Society of Manufacturing Engineers

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has awarded WMG's Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya an Honorary Membership Award. This award is one of the most prestigious honours presented by the society and is reserved for those exhibiting professional eminence among manufacturing engineers.

Independent business publisher Insider have ranked Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya number one in their new 2011 Power 100 list. Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya is founder and director of WMG - formerly Warwick Manufacturing Group. Dean of WBS Mark Taylor and WBS advisory board member Denys Shortt are also both listed in the Power 100.



WBS MSc in Finance ranked in world top 10

In the first Financial Times ranking of Masters in Finance programmes, WBS has achieved the position of fifth in the world for pre-experience programmes. The ranking noted that WBS students achieve very good salaries post-degree and that we are exceptionally good at placing our students into employment within 3 months of completion.
