ITLR - what's coming up in Term Two

We have now appointed panels for each of the 38 reviews being conducted both across academic departments and professional services clusters. Each panel is comprised of a Review Panel Chair, Internal Reviewers, a Student Reviewer, an External Reviewer, a Secretary and an Assistant Secretary. You can find out more about all of the panel roles on the ITLR website.

Over the coming weeks, the panels will begin to review their allocated department or cluster. There will be an initial meeting in January where the panel will assign roles and divide the work between them, followed a few weeks later by a SED review meeting. Having each individually read the department or cluster's Self-Evaluation Document, the panel will share their findings and discuss lines of enquiry.

Before the first review visit to the department or cluster, the Panel Chair will meet with the department or cluster to discuss the context of the review and any areas of enquiry that would be particularly valuable to the department or cluster. Following this, the panel will undertake an online review visit to the department or cluster (typically in February), followed by an in-person visit (typically in March).

After this, each panel's Secretary will write up the report from their review of a department or cluster. Reports will be completed within four weeks of the final review visit and responded to by the department or cluster before the end of May. Take a look at the timeline for the ITLR on the EPQ website to see what's coming up as we continue the project throughout the rest of the academic year.

The panel secretariat will soon be in touch with departments and clusters to confirm the dates for the first review visit, the online quality assurance focused visit. The ITLR team in EPQ will work with panels and departments or clusters to support scheduling around availability where we can; your cooperation and flexibility is appreciated with this.

We delivered training to panel members through December and early January. If you attended a previous session and would like a refresher of the content, presentations from training sessions are available here. Drop-in sessions will be available throughout the review period to support panels.

We are also busy planning a follow-up Common Theme event expecting to take place in February. Keep an eye on the ITLR events page for more details on this.

We are grateful to everyone who will be taking part in a review over the coming months, as well as those in departments and clusters who will be assisting with the review process.
