High Capacity Filestore

High Capacity Filestore is a fully managed storage service designed to scale to multiple petabytes. Optimised for large project, archive and research data it has a much lower cost per TB than our traditional filestore services and includes several data protection features. The current cost of this service is £35/TB/Yr with a backup.

Depending on your requirements, you can either request storage on our shared array, or purchase a dedicated array that we would design and run on your behalf.

You can access your data in the same way you do your H and M drive.

If you would like to find out more about High Capacity Filestore then why not drop us an email at teamstorage@warwick.ac.uk.

Both services are reliable, secure and provide a range of file access methods:

Storage Optimisation
  • Systems are optimised for resiliency and capacity over raw performance.
Hardware & Software
DR / Backups
  • Snaphots taken every hour allow us to recover from user error, viruses and malware attacks.
  • The entire system is replicated every evening to allow us to recover from catastrophic system failure.
Maintenance
  • Every month there will be a scheduled service outage to allow for software updates.

*We only charge for hardware. Staff, datacentre and other costs are already covered in the ITS Service central charge. Usable TiB refers to space avalible after parity, filesystem overhead and compression.
