Normed spaces appear to have very little going for them: aside from the hackneyed linear structure, you get a norm whose only virtue, aside from separating points, is the Triangle Inequality. What could you possibly prove with that? As it turns out, quite a lot. In this article we will start by considering basic convexity properties of normed spaces, and gradually build up to some of the highlights of Functional Analysis, emphasizing how these notions of convexity play a key role in proving many surprising and deep results.

Knowledge exchange, despite its burgeoning presence in literature, often grapples with definitional ambiguities due to its conflation with other knowledge management terminologies. This paper endeavours to elucidate the nuances of knowledge exchange and demarcate its contextual landscapes in existing literature. A co-occurrence of keyword analysis was completed, where 65 keywords with a threshold of 50+ occurrences were analysed. Subsequent literature scrutiny unveiled three pivotal themes: knowledge exchange geared towards assimilating health and science knowledge, the synergy of knowledge among enterprises for innovation and development, and the transposition of research into actionable decision-making and policy formulation. Rooted in these themes, this research posits that knowledge exchange seamlessly dovetails myriad knowledge management processes, spanning creation to application. Notably, this study provides essential insights to differentiate knowledge exchange from other knowledge management terms, laying a foundational reference for future research and offering a valuable compilation of reported knowledge exchange mechanisms for practical testing.

Intuition plays a vital role in strategic decision-making, enabling executives to cut through complexity and to navigate the information processing challenges posed by dynamic environments. However, enduring questions remain concerning the antecedents and the effectiveness of intuitive strategic decision-making. Accordingly, we used critical incident technique and conducted in-depth interviews with top managers from 27 UK firms, focusing on recent intuitive 'hits' and 'misses'. We explore these recent strategic decision episodes to provide an in-depth and nuanced understanding of intuition in strategic decision-making, contributing to the literature in two important ways. First, we build theory concerning the contextual triggers that foster the use of intuition, and second, we derive insights into the contextual factors that render intuition more, as well as less effective. We offer a series of theoretical and practical insights whereby intuition can be leveraged as a vital input to the strategic decision-making process.

This chapter outlines the effects of non-assignment clauses (referred to in this chapter as 'bans on assignment' or 'BoAs') and the case that was made for overriding BoAs in receivables contracts. It compares the responses to the problem in other jurisdictions and asks why the Business Contract Terms (Assignment of Receivables) Regulations 2018 (SI 2018/1254) ('the 2018 Regulations' or 'the Regulations') are so complicated and contain so many 'carve-outs' compared to legislation elsewhere. It speculates on the role of the City lawyers, both in 'signing off' deals and in law reform.
