The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for ensuring that research sponsored by the University receives appropriate review and complies with the requirements of the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research (2017) and/or the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004, as well as meeting standards of Good Clinical Practice.

Speaking about her new role, Dr Slowther said: “The Sponsorship Committee delivers a critical service to our University and NHS colleagues, in terms of both individual research projects and regulatory oversight and assurance. I am very much looking forward to working with Committee members to ensure that clinical research continues to be excellently supported at the University.”

Professor Jarvis commented: “The Sponsorship Committee plays an important role in facilitating the delivery of high quality research projects involving the University and NHS partners.
