Nominations open for Papin Prizes to recognise technical excellence in higher education and research

Applications are now open for the 2019 Papin Prizes - an awards programme which recognises and celebrates the skills, talent and experience of technicians in higher education and research across the UK and Ireland.

Next year will see the third edition of the awards ceremony, which will take place at the University of Birmingham on 25 June, 2019, and form a key component of the Higher Education Technicians Summit (HETS).

Nominations for the Papin Prizes are invited from universities and research institutes for technicians across all disciplines with awards being issued across a range of categories, including:

  • Newcomer
  • Teaching
  • Research
  • Core Research Facility
  • Infrastructure
  • Outreach/Community
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Technical Team.

The awards are sponsored by Midlands Innovation, a partnership of eight universities - Aston, Birmingham, Cranfield, Keele, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Warwick, in partnership with the Science Council.

The closing date Papin Prize nominations is 31 January, 2019.
