Funding available for City of Culture research projects

With Coventry City of Culture 2021 less than two years away, the Connecting Cultures Global Research Priority (GRP) is keen to remind all departments of the availability of funding to support the development of collaborative City of Culture-facing research projects.

The University is a principal partner of Coventry City of Culture 2021, and the Connecting Cultures GRP would like to hear from any research-active academics seeking up to £5,000 for projects aligned to their key aims.

The GRP is particularly eager to receive applications that support collaborative working across all faculties - both within the University and beyond, such as with colleagues from Coventry University, and/or with other cultural organisations in the city.

Dr Helen Wheatley, Academic Lead for the Connecting Cultures GRP, is keen to emphasise the importance of cross-faculty involvement and participation: “We've had lots of engagement from the Arts Faculty, but we’d also really like to hear from people in the Medical School who want to seed fund pilot projects on the impact of engagement with culture on health and wellbeing, for example, or from people with an interest in young people's engagement with City of Culture, or how the arts and culture offer ways out of social isolation.”

Further information about the funding opportunity can be found here. Subscribing to the Connecting Cultures' mailing list also provides a convenient way of keeping up-to-date with funding opportunities around City of Culture.
