Research England has officially opened its application process for the REF 2029 panels. Individuals may put themselves forward for the following roles:

• Sub-panel chair and deputy chair - the closing date for sub-panel chair and deputy chair roles is 12pm, 6 February 2025
• Sub-panel member - the closing date for this role, and all roles listed below, is midday 28 April 2025
• Main panel international expert
• Main panel people, culture & environment (PCE) expert
• Main panel user expert
• Main panel interdisciplinary expert

There is one application form for all roles.

Research England is keen to hear from individuals with varied expertise who can bring unique perspectives to the panels. Experiences beyond academia, including other sectors, policy work, and community-based experience are also highly valued.

The University would also like to encourage researchers to apply to be panel members. It’s a great opportunity to get involved in national policymaking in relation to UK research and Warwick has a wealth of expertise and experience to contribute.
