Academic Skills Day: Reading, writing, time management
This new academic skills day for research students brings together 3 key themes of RSSP workshops into 1 day. We’ll cover key issues in academic writing, followed by focused sessions on efficient reading techniques and how to manage your time.
By the end of the day you will have:
- Explored key issues in academic writing (notably style, structure, critical voice) and how to enhance your own thesis writing practice
- Learned and practised practical techniques to help you read more efficiently, to cover more material in less time
- Assessed how you spend your time, how you prefer to work and what steals your time
- Identified strategies to help plan, prioritise and organise your work more effectively

All postgraduate research students registered one of the following degrees: PhD, MPhil, Masters by Research, EngD, EdD, professional doctorate. Especially suitable for part-time researchers.
