Learn how to swim or improve technique with swimming courses. We help anyone regardless of your initial ability in the water.

Eight week course
(one 45 minute session per week)

Good to know

  • Course price includes access to showers and changing facilities.
  • Flotation devices and support aids available for all sessions.
  • Wear suitable swimwear such as swimsuits, speedos or shorts. A swim hat is recommended for long hair. You can bring goggles, but they are not required.
  • Towels and drinks can be taken onto poolside.

Beginners level

This level is for those who have little or no experience in the water. Our instructors will help you gain confidence in the water. You will work on core aquatic skills such as regaining feet, buoyancy, balance, floating and aquatic breathing and learn the basics of front crawl and backstroke kick.

Improvers level

This level is for those who have gained experience in the water, but are not yet confident moving without flotation aids. Our instructors will help you gain confidence to remove flotation aids for short distances (5m, 10m and 25m). You will work on core aquatic skills such as travel and co-ordination, submersion and sculling, as well as basic stroke techniques for front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke.

Advanced level

This level is for those who are confident to swim without flotation aids in deeper water. You will review all core aquatic skills and learn drills to help refine your strokes so you are able to swim longer distances without flotation aids (50m, 100m and 200m).
