Bone Density Screening at Warwick University

Osteoporosis literally means ‘Porous Bones’. It occurs when the rate of bone renewal does not match the rate of breakdown, eventually resulting in weak, brittle bones. Osteoporosis has no symptoms unless you break or fracture a bone, and many individuals do not realise they have the condition until this happens. Too often, people are diagnosed with osteoporosis years after they have had the condition, if they are diagnosed at all: This is too late for them to have the most effective treatment.

Great Results for our Rowing team!

Great results for our Performance Sport Rowing teams at Wallingford, Oxfordshire last weekend. Finishing 3rd in Open 8+ Band 2, which consisted of so many crews our team will undoubtedly be competing for spaces at Henley Royal Regatta.

Warwick Sport takes home two national sector awards

On Thursday 12 July we were awarded two national sector awards for our participation programme at Warwick and our reshaping sport campaign in the ‘take a stand award’ in the most recent BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) Conference where Universities from across the UK come together to share, discuss and honour best practice across the sector.

BUCS Outdoor Archery Championships

Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre hosted BUCS Outdoors 2018 on 16th and 17th June. A huge number of Warwick archers qualified to go to BUCS Outdoors this year and we ended up taking a team of 24. Read on to find out how it went.

Team Warwick Performance Clubs Announced

Team Warwick Performance is an integral part of the pathway for the ‘whole offer’ vision for sport at Warwick, in line with being the most active campus by 2020.

For every athlete at University of Warwick who wants to achieve their full potential, the programme provides a platform for talented athletes to develop sports specific and lifelong interpersonal skills.

A new Sport and Wellness Hub will be opening on campus in Spring 2019. Warwick Sport would like to hear your views on how they can improve the services and products that they offer for staff at the new facility when it opens.

All completed entries will be entered into a prize draw. 4 randomly selected participants will win a £50 high street voucher. Entries must reach us by Friday, 18 May 2018 to be eligible for the prize draw.
