Autumn Term

General guidance

  • Consider what you can and want to do. The university offers international study, work and volunteering opportunities ranging from 1 week during the summer vacation to a full year of study or work in another country during the academic year. This usually adds a year on to the length of your degree and is typically undertaken during Year 3 then you return to Warwick to complete your final year
  • Speak to anyone who has undertaken a student mobility placement to help you decide if it is for you

Semester – full year mobility

  • If you are interested in a semester or year-long placement, speak to the Study Abroad Coordinator within your department about what options are available. Applications must be completed during the Autumn Term. This option is only available to non-finalists.

Short-term mobility

  • Sign up for the Student Mobility Mailing List to be kept updated of what short international study, work or volunteering experiences will be available during the summer vacation

Spring Term

General guidance

  • Student Mobility will run Drop-In Sessions throughout the term and you are welcome to come along to ask any questions

Semester – full year mobility

  • The Student Mobility team will send your nomination to your host university. You will hear directly from your host university on individual application processes. Please note that all institutions have different deadlines and you are required to follow their instructions.
  • You MUST attend a Student Mobility Pre-departure Briefing
  • You can attend Intercultural TrainingLink opens in a new window to prepare yourself for your experience
  • Visit the website of your host institution to find out more information about being a student there

Short-term mobility

  • Check the Study Abroad Opportunities webpage for regular updates on specific study, work or volunteering opportunities, including some funded options
  • Apply for short term mobility funding to undertake opportunities that you have found independently
  • Check out MyAdvantage for international work opportunities
  • If you are undertaking an unpaid work placement, check whether you are eligible to apply for the Work Experience Bursary

Summer Term
