Screenings for Specific Learning Differences

The Disability team offers an initial screenings for some Specific Learning Differences (SpLD's). The screenings can give an indication of an SpLD and provide advise on the next steps, including information about a full diagnostic assessment and the University's hardship fund that contributes toward the cost of an assessment. Screenings are not diagnostic in nature but they are a helpful opportunity to reflect on any difficulties you might have experienced for a while, to discuss their impact on your learning and to explore options going forward. The disability adviser will support you to navigate through all that, provide you with all the necessary information and help you with any decisions you make.

We can offer screenings for:

  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • ADHD
  • ADD

We can also give advice about how to get an assessment for Autistic Spectrum, other SpLDs and Irlen's Syndrome.
