• Heating and hot water issues on central campus - now resolved

The Estates team has now resolved the problem that caused loss of heating and hot water to much of central campus this morning (see below). Heating and hot water will gradually return to affected buildings and should be running as normal by tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience whilst we worked on this.

This morning there has been a major leak in the pipe system that delivers hot water and heating to University buildings. As a result, many buildings on central campus (not affecting Gibbet Hill or Westwood) don’t have heating and some don’t have a hot water supply to every tap. Sorry for any discomfort or inconvenience this causes you. Engineers are working to identify the location of the leak and fix it. In the meantime, we’re using reserve boilers where possible to provide heat. We’re hoping to resolve this as soon as possible but will provide a further update at the end of today (Wednesday 27 October).
