Do you want to become an Official Student Representative for UK's largest online student community? Applications are now open for 3 The Student Room representatives.

We’re looking for three current students, one from each Faculty, to act as Official Student Representatives on The Student Room.

The Student Room is an online discussion forum and community site that enables students to support each other throughout their education, including when making choices about university. Prospective students can use the platform to seek the opinions of current students about different aspects of university life and what different universities are like. They may be interested in anything from courses and modules to accommodation, campus and the local area, facilities, admissions and more.

To ensure prospective students are hearing from current University of Warwick students about what it’s like to study with us we are looking for three students to represent Warwick in an official capacity on the Student Room website.

As an Official Student Representative, you will spend approximately 2 hours total per month answering questions and engaging with posts and discussions on the site and will be paid c. £27 per month. You should aim to check in on the site at least once per week where possible but can otherwise allocate your time to suit you. You will be given access to an Official Student Representative account to post from and will be communicating directly with prospective students, so you need to be confident and comfortable responding to queries from prospective students on behalf of Warwick. You need to be committed, organised, creative and above all, want to share what it is you love about being a student at Warwick with the world!

You will need to liaise with the central University Marketing team and our Student Recruitment Officers, who will also act as Official Staff Representatives on the site. You will be well supported by University staff and will be expected to attend relevant training as identified (up to a small number of sessions a year).

If you’re interested, please submit your application by email to Hannah Bettison via H dot Bettison at warwick dot ac dot uk by midnight on Sunday 12 September. You can also contact Hannah via this email address should you have any questions about the role before submitting an application.

In your email application please use the following subject line and include the following information:

  • Subject line: The Student Room – Official Student Representative Application
  • Full Name
  • Faculty (out of: Arts, SEM (Science, Engineering and Medicine), or Social Sciences)
  • Department
  • Course
  • Year of Study
  • A short outline about why you would like to be an Official Student Representative indicating any relevant experience (up to 200 words)
  • An example of how you would respond to the following question on a Student Room discussion (up to 200 words):

"I’m thinking about applying to Warwick but I just wondered how good it is in terms of social life/what’s the social environment like?"

We will then review the submissions and contact you to let you know if you have been successful.
