In memoriam: Alex O'Donoghue

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Alex O’Donoghue, a member of the MSc Finance and Economics cohort in Warwick Business School, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Alex’s family and friends at this deeply distressing time. Support is being provided to fellow students and friends affected by this tragic event.

Alex came to Warwick Business School after gaining a First in BSc Economics at the University of Sussex.

Please share memories and messages in the book of condolence to one another and Alex's family.

Professor Alex Stremme, Associate Dean for the Finance MSc Programmes, who taught Alex in Term 1, has paid tribute:

“This is a terrible tragedy, and we have lost a bright young man and a diligent student. To win a place on the MSc Finance & Economics programme already indicates a very intelligent individual, as it is a highly competitive course. Alex was conscientious and worked extremely hard. He had just successfully completed his first-term modules and was well on his way towards earning his Master’s Degree.

“Alex was a valued member of the Warwick Business School and University community, well-liked by his fellow students. His dedication to achieving his dreams and ambitions was tragically cut short. He will be sorely missed by staff and students - my sincere condolences go to his family.”
