Severe weather conditions

The University has a severe weather policy which informs provision for staff and students in the event of severe weather. This is a summary of what the University will do in the event of severe weather affecting campus or the local area.

We advise that you should always check local travel and weather reports to inform your own decisions on getting to or leaving the University campus. While members of the University are expected to make every reasonable effort to attend work or studies on campus, health, safety and well-being considerations are paramount, and people should not take unnecessary risks.

In the event of severe weather, we will notify you through our news channels - the MyWarwick website, MyWarwick app and SafeZone app. Academic departments will notify you of changes to teaching arrangements through their communication routes - such as departmental websites, email, the MyWarwick app, or phone calls.

If you feel you are unable to travel safely to or from campus, or that you should leave your studies early due to weather conditions, please liaise with your department.

Students are expected to resume normal course arrangements the following working day unless notified via the channels outlined above that severe weather conditions remain in place.
