UniSlam Success!
Congratulations to the Warwick Poetry team, who have been crowned UniSlam 2026 National Champions!
The UniSlam competition brought together 21 teams from universities across the UK and Ireland, making it one of the largest national spoken word events for students. The Warwick Poetry team, made up of undergraduate students from the University, featured five competing poets and two coaches.
Held in Birmingham from Friday 13 March to Sunday 15 March, the competition included preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and a grand final. Each team performed four poems in the preliminary rounds, with the highest-scoring teams advancing to the semi-finals on Sunday. Warwick secured a place in the grand final after strong performances in the earlier stages.
The Warwick Poetry team secured a place in the grand final after impressive performances throughout the competition and ultimately won the final, claiming the national title.
Warwick first entered UniSlam in 2024, winning the competition on their debut. The team returned in 2025 and placed second. This year’s victory marks Warwick’s second UniSlam title in three years.
Congratulations to the team!
“Winning UniSlam this year means a lot to us as it has culminated months of hard work preparation and artistic collaboration which we got to feature at the competition. It’s been an incredible experience to represent Warwick on a national stage, and we’re excited to continue growing spoken word on campus.”
