International study

Gain an awareness of international marketing and strategy on one of our exciting new International Marketing and Strategy international modules. These will be bespoke elective modules run by one of our European business school partners. Please note, an additional fee will be required to study one of these modules, and they will be subject to application and availability.

Delivery of modules varies – some are taught over the course of a term, whilst others are delivered in an intensive 5-day block.

3g

Over three terms you will complete six core modules, and three marketing and strategy related optional modules. Assessment of these modules will vary, and you could be assessed by group presentation, peer assessment, individual assignment, or examination. Your studies will be completed by either one further optional module and the Marketing and Strategy in Practice module, an Internship, or your Research Paper.
Within the Research Paper option there are two possible approaches:

  • A company-based project with a sponsoring organisation, producing both an academic Research Paper and a management report for the company
  • A piece of marketing or strategy-related research which will see you develop more specific detailed knowledge in a particular area of marketing or strategy.

Marketing & Strategy in Practice

Put the theory you’ve learned to the test with our Marketing & Strategy in Practice module. Gain a deeper understanding of key marketing and strategy functions within a simulated business environment, as you develop personal skills such as decision-making, creative problem-solving and effective performance evaluation.

Research Paper

Your investigation of a contemporary topic will develop your theoretical and practical understanding of current problems in this area, as well as your research and communication skills. This is your opportunity to demonstrate how you would work in reality, as you detail the decisions you would make – and why.

Internship route

This course offers the opportunity to self-source a summer internship, to increase your employability by applying your theoretical learnings to a real-world industry setting. The Internship module is an alternative to a traditional Research Paper to complete your course. Our careers team will support you through each step of the process.

Your timetable

Your personalised timetable will be complete when you are registered for all modules, core and optional, and you have been allocated to your lectures, seminars and other small group classes. Your core modules will be registered for you and you will be able to choose your optional modules when you join us.

There may be events taking place in the evenings. Classes may run up to 7pm and other events, such as careers presentations may take place later or on weekends. Occasionally, classes and exams may be held on weekends. We will notify you in advance if this is the case.

This is a full-time course, so there are no holidays as such. However, the two weeks covering Christmas and New Year are guaranteed to be free from lectures. There may also be weeks free over the Easter period (check with your programme team). Resit exams may take place outside of standard teaching periods.
