Warwick Business School's Global Online MBA combines inspirational teaching with flexible online learning.
If you’re looking for a way to advance your career, increase your business knowledge and leadership skills and maximise your board level awareness without stepping out of work, our part-time course could be your next step.
The majority of your learning will take place online at your own pace, wherever you are in the world. You’ll benefit from a global network of online learners during your live teaching and group work, and when you join us for two residential weeks at either our Warwick campus, or The Shard, London.
Teaching primarily takes place via our bespoke online learning environment my.wbs, which houses our teaching materials, interactive spaces and our online classroom: wbsLive. It enables you to take control of your learning, access webinars, participate in group work and communicate with your lecturers and Programme team. As innovators in the online learning space, we’re leading the way with new technologies to support you. We’re the first business school in the UK to launch SmartStage®, which uses extended reality to embed you in the online experience. Presenters will speak from our virtual studio, interacting with the content around them to create immersive video lectures. my.wbs truly is a global campus, ensuring you get the same quality teaching and learning experience as if you were studying in person.

The Global Online MBA offers you true flexibility, and your learning experience is built around the ability to slot into your busy life. With a combination of online learning (both live and at your own pace) and in-person teaching, you’ll build networks with your peers and faculty, dig deep into key theories, and meet at our two face-to-face residential weeks to immerse yourself in MBA learning.
Although the majority of your learning will be online, this doesn’t mean that you’ll miss out – you’ll still participate in group work, join in with online discussions, and access creative approaches to classroom learning. You’ll also get access to expert insight events on the topics that matter to you, and network with cohorts across our other MBA courses during your elective modules.
Your online learning environment
Your online teaching will take place via our intuitive online learning environment, my.wbs, which has been developed with your need for flexibility and quality in mind. Through this technology we’ve removed geographical barriers, so your course is accessible to you, wherever you are.

Joining us face-to-face
Face-to-face interaction is an essential element of our course, so you will join us on campus in Warwick or WBS London, The Shard, depending on which variant of the programme you have enrolled on, for two residential weeks (Warwick Weeks). These intensive face-to-face periods of study will embed your learning, enrich your studies and allow you to grow your network. In addition to the Warwick Week attendance, included in your tuition fee is one required face-to-face elective module. You may also opt to take an additional face-to-face module for an additional cost.
At Warwick our Global Online MBA class sizes comprise of around 180 students, whilst in London Global Online MBA class sizes comprise of approximately 60 students.
This course is taught online, with 2 weeks face-to-face teaching in the first year and a required face-to-face elective module in your second year. Each module should take approximately 100 hours, which typically includes a minimum of 27 hours of structured teaching (live teaching and online learning/support) and the remainder made up of guided online study and independent self-study.
Module assessment is a mix of individual assignments, exams, group work and class tests.
Dissertation
Your Dissertation can take one of several forms, either addressing research questions by studying real-world examples and/or the people involved, or conducting an original investigation addressing a practical issue. Dissertations can be practical and based on your own organisation or an external organisation, or can take a more theoretical approach – the choice is yours.
The Dissertation allows you to dig deeper into a topic of interest to you, and enables you to apply your learning, take multiple perspectives on a business issue, and explore your subject thoroughly.
The majority of our Global Online MBAs take the dissertation route.
Capstone module
For your final module you have the choice to undertake a Dissertation or Strategic Consulting Project. This will give you the opportunity to showcase applied learning from your programme, focussing on addressing a practical or research problem relevant to today’s business landscape.
Academically, your final module tests your ability to apply your learning to real management issues.
Professionally, it may well open the door to your next career move.
Each option will take the form of a project, and culminates in the submission of a written piece of work. The options differ slightly in that the Dissertation is an individual project, whilst the Strategic Consulting Project is undertaken in a group. Both can take place in an employment setting.
Strategic consulting project
As a group of three, you’ll engage with an organisation, addressing at least one topic posed by the Client. You’ll use knowledge and theory gained from your Global Online MBA to describe, analyse, and address this topic, providing actionable consulting feedback.
10% of your assessment for this module will be based on a group presentation, with 90% based on an individual consulting report. This is your opportunity to consolidate everything you have learnt and apply it to a real business.
You must have at least three years’ professional experience. You should be able to demonstrate progression in your career, which could include increased people management, budgetary and/or project management responsibilities. In a typical cohort, our participants have, on average, around 12 years of professional business experience.
We encourage applications from candidates with a second-class honours at undergraduate level from a UK university, or the equivalent qualification from an overseas university. However, we also welcome exceptional candidates who may not meet these academic qualifications but demonstrate a proven ability to succeed through their experience.
There are no additional entry requirements for this course.
