Returners to study

Returning to study

We welcome applications during the main admissions cycle from individuals who are returning to study. Applying during the main admissions cycle gives the Admissions Service sufficient time to review an application and request additional information from an applicant returning from a significant time away from study. Applicants may be required to attend an interview to determine their suitability for the course. For this reason, we are not able to consider applications from applicants returning to study through Clearing.

There are no set entry requirements (although evidence of recent academic study is likely to be an advantage). Each application will be considered individually against the entry criteria for the chosen course.

We would recommend contacting the department you are interested in applying to, or the Admissions Service, before you apply if you have any questions about your eligibility for the degree course you are considering.

Centre for Lifelong Learning

The Centre for Lifelong Learning also offers programmes for those returning to study including part-time degrees, 2+2 degrees and foundation degrees. These degrees have flexible entry requirements and flexible modes of study which may suit individuals who have been out of education for a while, don’t have formal qualifications or who work and wish to study part-time.
