Describe your current role and what attracted you to it.
I manage and develop social media campaigns for a range of brands, working closely with clients to bring their visions to life.
What are the key skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?
So much of what I do now ties back to the skills I developed at Warwick, particularly outside the classroom. I was heavily involved in student societies, serving as President of Warwick Glee and as Charity & Welfare Officer for the Jane Austen Society. These experiences taught me how to work with different types of people and connect through shared interests, not just shared goals. I also honed my writing and storytelling skills, which have been central to every role I've held since.
On a personal note, I met my current partner through my course, and many of my closest friends are people I met through these societies. A double win! More than anything, Warwick gave me the space to find my voice and express myself with confidence. My sister also studied at Warwick, two years ahead of me, and being at university together allowed our relationship to grow in a really special way.
Did you have a specific career path in mind when you chose to study at Warwick?
Not at all! When I first went to Warwick, I had no idea what I wanted to do after graduation. I just knew what I enjoyed - writing, presenting, and connecting with people. There wasn't one career that checked all the boxes for me, so I just followed the opportunities that came my way. The path I ended up on was one I never expected. I never planned to work in radio or end up in branding and content. But looking back, every step built on the previous one and led me here.
What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?
The best thing you can do is be curious. Content and branding are always changing, and the people who thrive are those who love to learn. Don't limit yourself - try different things and say yes to the opportunities that come your way. Also, be present in your current role. My experience in broadcasting taught me about the corporate world and the importance of understanding client needs. Many people, especially early in their careers, are constantly thinking about what's next. But some of the best lessons come from diving fully into the role you're in right now. I had no formal background in radio other than my time at Radio Warwick, but I showed up, asked questions, and grew immensely just by being open to learning.
What does a typical day look like for you?
It really depends! At BRANDTHINK, my role is about maintaining and creating social media campaigns for various brands and collaborating with clients. I love storytelling and helping others tell their stories, which has been a consistent theme throughout my career. There's always a lot of writing - whether it's social content, proposals, or brand narratives. Because we're an agency, things move quickly, so there's always something new on the horizon, which keeps things exciting. Agency life is demanding, but also very fulfilling.
What has been your greatest career challenge to date and how did your experience and skills help overcome it?
One of the biggest challenges for me was transitioning out of radio. I had spent nearly six years at BFM, a place I loved, and leaving felt like a huge shift. Moving into branding and the agency world meant learning a whole new language. However, I carried with me the ability to ask questions, listen carefully, and understand what people were really trying to say - skills I had developed through radio interviews. These skills have been invaluable as a strategist because, in the end, it's all about understanding people.
