MSc E-Business Management, 2018

Based in:

Limassol, Cyprus

Came to study at Warwick from:

Cyprus

First job:

My first professional role was as a Web Master Assistant at the University of Nicosia, where I worked part-time while completing my undergraduate studies. It was a hands-on introduction to the web — managing the university's website, building webpages, and handling their social media posting. The early exposure to the technical side of online presence planted the seed for everything that followed.

Digital Marketing Campaigns Specialist, Amdocs

Describe your current role and what attracted you to it.

I manage end-to-end digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms, from strategy and planning through to execution, optimisation, and reporting. I work across paid digital media — including search engine and social media advertisements — to drive results for a global technology company.

What attracted me was the scale and complexity of operating in a global B2B environment. Amdocs serves some of the world's largest telecoms companies, so the campaigns I work on have real reach and impact. The opportunity to combine my expertise in paid advertising, social media, and campaign analytics within a dynamic, data-led organisation was a compelling factor.

What’s your favourite part of your role?

Being able to dive in and understand what resonated, what drove clicks and conversions, and then optimising accordingly — it’s where I find the most satisfaction. I genuinely enjoy the puzzle of improving performance, whether that's refining ad copy, adjusting targeting parameters, or reallocating budget across channels to maximise ROI.

What are the key skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?

My degree from Warwick gave me a strong strategic and analytical foundation that I apply every day. These include: critical thinking applied in understanding digital business models, data-driven decision-making, and critically evaluating emerging technologies — essential in a field that evolves as rapidly as digital marketing.

Warwick also sharpened my ability to communicate complex information clearly, a skill that translates directly into writing compelling ad copy and presenting campaign results to stakeholders. It also helped me improve my research skills — something I apply on a daily basis.

Did you have a specific career path in mind when you chose to study at Warwick?

I chose my course specifically because it bridged two worlds – E-Commerce and Business — giving me a rigorous academic grounding in digital business strategy while remaining practical and industry-relevant.

What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?

1) Get certified early. Google Ads, LinkedIn ads, Meta Blueprint, and HubSpot certifications are recognised across the industry and signal credibility to employers — and they're free.

2) Learn to love data. Digital marketing is as much about analytics as it is about creativity. Get comfortable with Google Analytics, understand attribution, and always tell the story behind the numbers.

3) Build a portfolio, not just a CV. Run campaigns for a student society, a local business, or even your own project. Tangible results speak louder than credentials alone.

4) Stay curious. Platforms, tools, and best practices shift constantly. Set aside time each week to read industry publications and experiment with new features.

What has been your greatest career challenge to date and how did your experience and skills help overcome it?

Early in my career, transitioning from managing social media organically to running paid advertising at scale was a steep learning curve. The stakes are higher with paid media — budget decisions have immediate financial consequences. I tackled this by immersing myself in platform documentation, completing every relevant certification, and adopting a test-and-learn mindset: starting with small budgets, measuring rigorously, and scaling what worked. Over time, this approach became second nature and forms the backbone of how I run campaigns today.

What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were applying for jobs?

The job title matters less than the learning opportunity, especially early on. Every role I've held — from a small film company to a global tech firm — has contributed something unique to my skill set. Breadth of experience is an asset in digital marketing.
