Describe your current role and what attracted you to it.

My role is to manage and supervise parcel and letter deliveries in my area to meet customer needs and expectations through one of the best digitally connected supply chains and logistics networks. I am parcel delivery industry enthusiast and Royal Mail is one of the best global postal industry players. I love to work here as it respects inclusion and diversity.

What’s your favourite part of the role?

It is people focused improvement as people are the backbone of any transformation be it digital, administrative, operational or financial.

What are the key skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?

Warwick has polished my skills in application of logistics and supply chain techniques like value stream mapping, forecasting, resource planning, risk mapping, people management and continuous improvement methods like lean, agile, TQM and motivation techniques like Big 5.

Did you have a specific career path in mind when you chose to study at Warwick?

Yes, I had a well planned career path in mind that led me to select MSc Supply Chain and Logistics Management at Warwick as it offers the best logistics management programme.

What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?

Take OPP module first as it will enable students to learn people management techniquesand continuous improvement methods relating to people motivation and performance management. Secondly, learn techniques like lean and agile methods to reduce wasteand increase efficiency and productivity. Then focus on risk assessment and risk mitigation techniques to manage risks in supply chain and logistics.

What has been your greatest career challenge to date and how did your experience and skills help overcome it?

It has been the people who do not love to come to work. I inspired them, listened to them first before I spoke motivated them, made them smile and always supported them.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given in relation to your career?

Listen more than you speak and focus on numbers.

What should current students or recent alumni be doing to move their careers forward?

Read everyday as readers are the leaders.
