Marketing Manager at Lumi SKN

Describe your current role and what attracted you to it.

I work as a Marketing Manager in a dynamic team of four at Lumi SKN, where we focus on redefining luxury in beauty and wellness. Lumi SKN offers award-winning technology, tailored franchise opportunities for those looking to launch new clinics, upscale hotels, and spas. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our sophisticated treatments and bespoke spa experiences.

My role allows me to blend creativity and strategy by handling content planning, social media management, brand positioning, influencer collaborations, and marketing campaigns for multiple verticals within the organisation.

What initially drew me to this role was my passion for the beauty industry and marketing, and the opportunity to merge both worlds creatively. It has been incredibly rewarding to work on exciting brand launches, high-profile collaborations, and innovative marketing campaigns that shape consumer experiences in the beauty space.

What’s your favourite part of the role?

I love that I get to do all things creative within the beauty industry, from content creation and branding to influencer collaborations and campaign ideation. Seeing a concept come to life and make an impact is truly fulfilling.

What are the key skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?

Warwick equipped me with a strong foundation in marketing strategy, brand management, and digital communication. Beyond technical skills, I also developed resilience, adaptability, and effective communication, all of which have been crucial in my career growth.

Did you have a specific career path in mind when you chose to study at Warwick?

I always aspired to become a marketing manager in the beauty or luxury industry. Warwick helped me gain the necessary knowledge and confidence to pursue this path. Warwick provided a strong foundation in marketing and business, while also developing my communication and leadership skills. The diverse and dynamic environment at Warwick also helped me broaden my perspective, build resilience, and adapt to challenges, all of which have been essential in my career.

What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?

Step out of your comfort zone and seize every opportunity that comes your way, you never know what might work for you. Be open to learning, networking, and gaining hands-on experience in marketing.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My mornings start with a cup of coffee and a quick snack, setting the tone for a productive day. Our team has a collaborative culture, so we often brainstorm ideas, coordinate campaigns, and work on exciting projects together. We also take breaks, go for walks, and share lunch, making the work environment both enjoyable and inspiring. After work, I like to unwind with a workout, followed by cooking a healthy yet delicious dinner, and ending the day with a good movie or a book.

What has been your greatest career challenge to date and how did your experience and skills help overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges was managing multiple brand launches simultaneously, ensuring every detail aligned with the brand’s identity. Time management, strategic planning, and teamwork helped me successfully execute high-impact campaigns, while maintaining a balanced workload. Additionally, when working with new clients, understanding their style and vision, alongside aligning it with different ways of working, was crucial in delivering results that met their expectations and maintained a strong relationship.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given in relation to your career?

It’s okay to take breaks, growth isn’t always linear, and stepping back sometimes helps you move forward with clarity.

What should current students or recent alumni be doing to move their careers forward?

Never stop learning! Keep up skilling, networking, and challenging yourself, growth comes from continuously expanding your knowledge and adapting to industry trends. Even if you fail at something, see it as a learning experience rather than a setback. Every challenge is an opportunity to improve, evolve, and come back stronger.

What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were applying for jobs?

There’s no need to panic, employers want you as much as you want them. Stay confident, communicate well, and trust your skills. Now, when I’m hiring for my team, I’ve realised that a successful interview is all about how confidently you communicate your skills. The key is not just looking for professional expertise, but also for passion and attitude.
