Strategic Partnerships Manager, Jaguar Land Rover

Describe your current role and what attracted you to it.

In my current role at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), I lead and secure strategic technology partnerships with global innovators to shape the future of mobility and digital ecosystems.

What attracted me to this role was the unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of automotive, technology, and long‑term strategy, bringing together diverse organisations to accelerate JLR’s transformation journey. It is challenging, intellectually stimulating, and purpose‑driven – exactly the kind of environment where I feel I can create value and continue learning every day.

What’s your favourite part of your role?

My favourite part of my role is the opportunity to bring together brilliant minds from JLR and leading technology partners to shape strategic collaborations. I enjoy the process of aligning different organisations, cultures, and visions to enable meaningful innovation.

The work I do helps shape JLR’s direction in a rapidly changing industry. It’s purposeful, dynamic, and I'm learning every day.

What are the key skills you learnt at Warwick that have helped you with your career to date?

The strong emphasis on strategic thinking and real‑world application. My modules helped me develop a structured, analytical mindset, and taught me how to break down complex problems, connect the dots across functions, and make decisions grounded in both data and long‑term vision.

Warwick didn’t just equip me with skills, it instilled a way of thinking that continues to guide how I approach challenges, build relationships, and create impact.

Did you have a specific career path in mind when you chose to study at Warwick?

I already had a clear sense of direction shaped by my experience in the automotive industry with Tata Motors and Mercedes‑Benz. The industry had always been a part of my identity, and I wanted to build on that foundation by working in a strategic role.

Warwick’s strong reputation in strategy‑focused modules, its practical approach to problem‑solving, and the calibre of its global network made it the ideal environment.

What top tips do you have for Warwick graduates who would like to work in your sector?

Graduates aiming to enter the automotive and tech‑strategy space should focus on three things: building strong fundamentals in strategy and problem‑solving, developing an understanding of emerging technologies shaping mobility, and gaining practical experience through projects, internships, or industry collaborations.

Networking is equally important: connect with alumni and professionals, attend sector events, and stay curious. Most importantly, show genuine passion for automotive and innovation; in this sector, enthusiasm and curiosity often matter as much as technical skills.

What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were applying for jobs?

One thing I wish I had known when I was applying for jobs is that clarity and confidence matter just as much as capability. Early in my career, I often felt I needed to ‘tick every box’ before applying. In reality, organisations look for potential, mindset, and willingness to learn – not perfection.

I also wish I had understood the value of storytelling: being able to articulate your experiences, strengths, and motivations make a bigger impact than a long list of achievements. Employers want to understand who you are, not just what you’ve done.

Finally, I wish I had known that career paths are rarely linear. Being open to learning, taking calculated risks, and embracing experiences outside your comfort zone often leads to the most meaningful growth.
