Connections: Jamie Brassett

What’s your standout memory of Warwick?

The people. My colleagues and friends in the philosophy department.

How would you sum up Warwick in the time that you were there and your generation of students?

Intense.

What was the student culture like at Warwick, and were there any annual traditions, societies, sports clubs, or events that you remember?

Around the time of the Italia ‘90 World Cup, a bunch of us doing Philosophy PhDs would play a lot of football. In the park over ‘anarchy bridge’ from Earlsdon, or 5-a-side at the university. It was as intense as the weekly PhD seminars, while not being quite as aggressive. Emphasis on ‘quite’.

Finish the sentence: Warwick influenced who I am today, because…

. . . without it, I wouldn't have published, taught, thought, or practised as I have.
