Connections: Tim Guile

Tim Guile

BPhil (Ed), 1997

After a working life teaching, I have turned my attention to research and writing about the late medieval/early modern period of history. I founded a Facebook page and group called British Medieval Christian Tradition. I researched Catholic recusancy and have given talks online or in person. I was asked to talk at a conference held at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford and have been asked to do so at the next conference there. I have published articles online and in print on subjects ranging from medieval festivals to Marian shrines in the sixteenth century and iconoclasm during the reformation. Studying for a Warwick degree gives one the confidence and the training to tackle research and to know that you can achieve your goals. My proudest moment was receiving the degree in the graduation ceremony from one of the highest rated universities in the country.
