The impact of your support in 2024

You make the difference
The generosity of your alumni and supporter community is driving lasting change – empowering students and advancing vital research. You’re helping us break down barriers to higher education, enrich students’ experience, and fund innovative research with global impact. Thank you.
Here are just some of the ways that support made an enduring impact in 2024.
You changed lives
“To all of you who have made a donation, I would like to say a really big thank you. It has allowed students like me to get involved in a range of different projects, from going on a year abroad to attending different societies, clubs and social events. It’s not only a financial gift, but also a gift of encouragement and support.”
- Iqra Ahmed (LLB Law, 2024)
During the 2023/24 academic year, 1,627 of you donated more than £2.6 million, which will support hundreds of students from a wide range of backgrounds to come to Warwick and succeed – throughout their studies and beyond.
You helped tackle a global threat
A £1.5 million gift is advancing collaborative research into the global threat of antimicrobial resistance between scientists in Japan and the University’s Sir Howard Dalton Centre.
Antimicrobial resistance – when disease-causing microbes develop resistance to the drugs designed to control them – is threatening the effectiveness of modern medicine. This in turn, increases the possibility of common infections becoming deadly illnesses.
The gift, made by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, aims to accelerate the discovery of new antimicrobials and train the next generation of researchers.
More than 350 of you contributed to cancer research at Warwick, becoming the largest community of supporters for a single research area. Together, you raised more than £29,000 to power vital work in detecting and curing cancer.
One in two people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime, with research at Warwick spanning improvements in detection, advancing treatment, and enhancing patient care.
