BSc MORSE 2016
MSc student in Applied Statistics at Oxford
As described in the course title, you will learn fundamental knowledge of different fields in the first year. Although challenging, you can find which profession you are most interested in. I was a MMORSE student at first. Before entering the university I wanted to work as an actuary after graduation and MMORSE is the one that provides exemptions of some actuarial exams. However, after two years' study I found that my interest lies in statistics and only wanted to focus on this area. The three-year version would be appropriate for me, so I transferred to MORSE.
Due to the flexibility, in my final year, I selected seven statistics modules. These modules gave me a broad training in statistical methodology, statistics in finance and medical research, and computational statistics. And, undoubtedly, what I learnt from MORSE is a good preparation for my MSc course in Applied Statistics. So whether you have decided which stream to take or not, MORSE should be the best choice for you!.
